Abstract Audio returns this September with a special edition featuring the Canadian debut of German producer and DJ Andre Kronert, joined by Markus Schwarz and local selector JeniMack.
Built around high-fidelity sound systems and intentional listening, Abstract Audio is about deep selections, long-form storytelling, and dancefloors that reward attention. This edition features a fully vinyl-focused program, with Andre Kronert and Markus Schwarz performing exclusively on vinyl through our meticulously tuned HK Audio High-Fidelity Sound System.
For more than three decades, Andre Kronert has been quietly shaping underground electronic music. Based in Northern Germany, he is known for a distinctive sound that blends deep house, dub techno, and stripped-back club music with analogue warmth and uncompromising groove. With more than 100 releases and remixes to his name—including acclaimed records on Berg Audio—his productions have become staples in discerning record bags around the world.
Beyond his work as an artist, Andre has played an important role behind the scenes in electronic music. He is the driving force behind ODD/EVEN, Kronert Enterprises, Knowone, and Neurotron, and is the co-founder and CEO of Matter Of Fact, one of the world's most respected vinyl pressing plants. His commitment to vinyl culture and sound quality makes this a fitting collaboration with Abstract Audio.
Joining Andre is Markus Schwarz, whose lifelong dedication to underground dance music and vinyl culture makes him a natural fit for the evening. Introduced to house, techno, and electro through the sounds of Detroit, Chicago, and New York, Markus cut his teeth at illegal parties in Germany during the late 1990s before becoming a fixture of the country's intimate underground club scene. Rather than chasing the spotlight, he has spent decades refining his craft and building lasting friendships through a shared passion for music. Today, he is a co-founder of Matter Of Fact alongside Andre Kronert and Daniel Slabschie, where his focus has shifted toward producing exceptional vinyl records for artists around the world while continuing to develop his own productions. Expect a thoughtful, vinyl-only journey built on deep grooves, timeless selections, and an unmistakable love for the culture.
Opening the night is Cumberland's own JeniMack, setting the tone with a carefully selected journey into the deeper end of house and techno.
